Moved

The time I spent away from the blog was actually time spent moving to Wordpress ( better blogging service for me IMO ). Here's the new address for anyone who gives a shit.

NEW BLOG AQUI

See what I did there? Snazzy and awesome. Anyway, have fun following that link, who knows, I might come back to blogger one day when the site is designed a bit better ( and actually has a mobile app for my iphone ). Wordpress is a bit daunting at first, but its much more customizable. Catch you guys on the flip side.

My Bad

Well I was taking a bit of a "mini vacation" of sorts. Anyway, I had such a great time that I fell asleep on the couch before I could get on to Blogger and I *gasp* missed my first post. Worst of all, it was my first week anniversary post, so at this point, I'm pretty sad face.

Decided to take another day off of school to get my mind off of lots of things, especially things that are going on at school that I'd rather not confront at the moment. But the break was nice, watched the Discovery Channel all day today, learned about all sorts of neato stuff like military training, the secret service, and the Bermuda triangle. Also got to see the new Direct TV commercial with the Russian dude "working out". Almost missed his mini giraffe, it was at the bottom right of the screen on its own little tread mill. Awesome.

Yes. This. Awesome.

Well, wasn't that commercial specifically but I couldn't find anything else on it so... yeah. Anyway, heading off to school tomorrow, I'll probably have tons of shit to deal with so expect a nice post. Until then folks, stay frosty.

Plans Fall Through

Well, ended up not going to the dance this evening, even though I had kinda been looking forward to it all week. I've just been feeling sick and kinda down in the dumps lately. Last week wasn't the best of weeks that's for sure. There's really nothing like being in a depressed state, it really screwed up what could have been a great weekend, but oh well.

Major political news today by the way. Operation Odyssey Dawn was just lauched by the United States against the Libyan dictator, Muammar Muhammad al-Gaddafi ( and yes, I did copypasta his name from Wikipedia, these crazy arab names I swear to God... ). This almost guarantees that something will be going on between Libya and NATO very soon. Funny thing is, FRANCE of all countries is spearheading the entire movement into Libya.

Huh, wonder if their planes fly four gears in reverse too?

I think it's amazing. Today was the 8th anniversary of the beginning of the Iraq war and here we go again. Out of one sand trap, back into another. Awesome. It's really Europe that wants this no-fly zone. Especially France. Why do you have to pull the US into it too? It's very simple; If you want a no-fly zone then by all means, enforce a no-fly zone yourselves. Why are we always the country to foot the bill? Give me a break. Hopefully, we stay as far away from this one as possible, and thankfully, Obama seems to be talking like we might do just that.

Friday On My Mind

Phew, almost forgot about today's post. We'll its Friday and I chose to stay home today, partially because I didn't feel all that great, but mostly because I didn't want to go to school. Staying home on a Friday is an opportunity I rarely get, but I definitely enjoy the three-day weekend. Nothing like staying up late, but I usually stay up late during the week anyway, but on the weekends especially, that's when I do some of my best staying up.

Speaking of Friday, I'm sure everyone by now has heard of the musical atrocity known as "Friday" by Rebecca Black.

Holy crap. When I first saw that video I thought it was a joke. Some parody of a Justin Bieber song or maybe a political gaffe. Nope. This song was made to be taken seriously and I'm sure little preteens are already raving about it. World, meet Justin 2, Rebecca Black.

When this generation is old and decrepit, sitting on our front porch ( or maybe the back seat, or even, the front seat ) listening to OUR "golden oldies", it's going to be Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber playing over that radio folks. While generations of the past enjoyed Elvis, The Beatles, and Led Zeppelin, our generation will be represented by kids ( and adults who won't grow up ). Awesome.

Bad

Golf today wasn't fun. I did really bad, I fact, I was disqualified. How you ask? I managed to loose all 21 balls I was carrying with me to everything. From water hazards, landing inside locked gates, you name it. After I lost my last golf ball to a water hazard on the 17th, I was automatically DQ'ed. Fun stuff.

Once we got back into the van we came over in, the coach was pretty pissed, not directly at me, rather, he was pissed off at the entire team for either doing bad or getting DQ'ed ( And no, I wasn't the only guy out there it get DQ'ed, 2 of my other team-mates did, one to injury, the other quitting out of frustration ). Regardless of whether or not I was disqualified, it still woul've been a terrible game, and since I was so close to finishing, I can safely say that if I wouldn't have landed that ball in the drink, I would've shot a 119-125. Definitely not good by anyone's standards.

Had plenty of these moments out on the course

To top it all off, all the blossoms and tree pollen REALLY got my allergies going and I'm also feeling a bit sick at the moment. All and all, today was a disappointing and shitty day, tough I can't say it wasn't expected at this point. 'Till next time folks.

Straight down the middle

Golf. The only sport I'm capable of playing halfway decently. I'm on my schools team and it's my first time playing. I'm a bit nervous but apparently I'm going to be playing with guys at my skill level so it won't be all that bad. It's really just because I know I'm probably going to end up blowing the match and embarrassing myself in front of two guys I don't even know.

The great thing about golf tournaments is messing around with my fellow teammates. The school has a big van that seats twelve and we always end up having one hell of a time. We usually stop off somewhere to eat first, then we drive the van out to the match ( the games about an hours drive away ). Once we get there, we unpack all of our things, get a bucket of practice balls and take a few shots. Then we're off to find our group of three and we begin a long grueling 18-hole golf match. Afterwards we check to see how bad we did on the score board compared to the other schools and go home. All in a days work.

Golf. Definitely not as easy as you think it is

Dirty Dancing

Got a dance to go to this Saturday at my buddies church. I'll probably end up going just like I did last year, and you know, even though it was a "formal" and "decent" church dance, ( no grinding allowed, gotta leave a little room between the two of you ) I actually ended up having a pretty good time. I like doing things on the weekends, keeps me busy and occupied. I can't see being cooped up in the house all weekend unless I'm pretty sick, so you'll usually find me going places and doing things.

I'll admit, I'm actually pretty excited for the US arrival of the 3DS, that thing's gonna be bad ass. I don't have a Wii, in fact, the last home console I had from the big N was the Nintendo 64.

Ah the good old days, nothing like a game of Mario Kart after a long day of kindergarten

Everything else they make seems so... behind the times I guess. Why buy a GameCube when I could buy an Xbox or a PS2? Why buy a Wii when I could buy an Xbox 360 or a PS3 both actually capable of producing 1080p video?

One thing Nintendo does do best is handhelds let me tell ya. If I had a dollar for every minute I spent playing Pokemon, I'd have quite the handsome start of a nest egg on my hands. Nintendo puts out some great handheld games as it is. Who knows what game developers will be able to accomplish with beefed up hardware and 3D visuals. Did you see that Resident evil demo? One word: Awesome. With a capital A.

Monday, Monday

Oh Monday, you never cease to amaze me. How can one day of the week always be so shitty? Maybe Monday's jealous of Saturday and Sunday and decides to make itself a shitty day because it can't be a weekend. Regardless, today was long, grueling, and filled with oh so predictable disappointment.

Got to school late, and I mean late. Why? A train decided to stop and stay at a railroad crossing for a good 15 minutes. Once the train had finally passed, traffic got backed up. Stop lights where rediculous and some bastard in a rust bucket almost t-boned my car while I was stopped at a light. Amazing. Driving has its benefits, sure. Freedom, not having to go through numerous other bus stops until I finally got to my house at 4:15. But sometimes, I really miss riding the bus. I really enjoyed driving myself for a year and now it's getting to be a bit of a chore.

I'm also starting to believe the girl I planed to ask to prom might not be into me. We've been really good friends all year but a few days ago, one of her idiot bitch friends told her that I might be jealous of some Filipino kid she talks to who I've also known for a while. Now she's asking my friends about me, and the way I feel about her; and for the past few days, we haven't been having conversations like we used to. In fact, it seems like shes trying to avoid me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not acting like anythings up. I'm not desperately trying to piece together a conversation she doesn't want to have... I just can't see why nothing ever works out for me... guess I'll talk about previous forays another day, I'm actually pretty tired and I want to get some sleep.

The earthquake that hit Japan Friday

Guess I can't say I'm having the worst Monday in the world. That honor goes to all the Japanese citizens dealing with homelessness, earthquakes powerful enough to set back the earths rotation by 1.6 microseconds and shift the earths axis 6.5 inches, not to mention possible nuclear meltdown, so maybe I shouldn't complain. Just really wish I could figure out whats going on between us...

In the Beginning...

So today I threw together a quick blog after a bit of research and an hour on the layout page trying to pick a background that looked halfway decent. So welcome to my little corner of the internet, a corner I hope will someday be enjoyed by a good handful of people. This post is the first of many, though I'm going to keep it short as its Sunday night and I'm pretty tired from what I'd call a pretty decent weekend.

This Saturday I went over to a buddies house for a party he was throwing. I never actually talked to him, he just said, "Hey man! Sup?" and then before I could answer, he retreated into a massive group of people whom I didn't want to bother with my introductions, not that it mattered really they where all crazy drunk and wouldn't remember me by morning anyhow. As I drilled deeper into the crowd of people in Brads living room, I came to the sudden conclusion that maybe coming to this party wasn't the best idea.

That's when I was approached by one of your typical SoCal douchebag beach-goers with his hat turned sideways and tan lines on his retarded forehead where he'd left his sunglasses for the whole day on the beach. His name was Joey. And God he was the textbook definition of a drives-a-truck-with-huge-tires-rolls-down-his-windows-with-Nickleback-blasting-winking-at-the-chicks-he-stops-next-to-at-a-stop-light kind of douchebag. After talking for a while, he called his girlfriend over, a shy Asian girl who really didn't look like she wanted to be at Brads party. He then proceeded to talk about how she hardly ever "puts out" and that she doesn't drink at parties like all of his other douchebag friends do. He was talking all that shit right in front of her, to a guy that he had met some 5 minutes ago. Why do girls put up with this douchebaggery? I dunno, I was always taught respect, this guy was just... well, a big douche.

A pack of Douchebags in their natural habitat; notice the alcohol, fake jewelry, and the use of sunglasses at night

Long story short, nice guys finish last in college and Brads parties always end up reminding me how much I hate assholes like Joey.

Well tomorrows Monday, always a shitty day for everyone I guess so expect a post. I suppose ill end this post with a quote from a most arrogant douchebag, Mr. John Mayer:

“The feathered [hair] cut projects an attitude of ease and quiet confidence that seems to have all but eluded our generation. This is a work in progress, and as my hair grows longer it will serve to become a more stirring and poignant statement."

Oh John, I'll have to get to you later. Until then, have a good one folks.
